About If Happens
If Happens™ was created to confront a simple reality:
The structures that shaped the last twenty years of professional life are changing faster than most institutions are willing to admit.
Experienced people are feeling friction they can’t fully explain.
Careers that once had predictable arcs now stall or fracture.
Data tells one story. Lived experience tells another.
If Happens exists to examine that gap with precision and to build practical frameworks for moving inside it.
This is thinking designed to be used.
What We Do
If Happens develops and publishes:
Long-form essays analyzing structural shifts in work, technology, and leverage
Practical frameworks for navigating volatility
Decision architecture for disciplined AI integration
Strategic models for professional repositioning
It also serves as the intellectual foundation behind private advisory engagements for individuals and leaders facing transition or contraction.
The objective is simple:
Restore traction where momentum has stalled.
Founder
If Happens was founded by Jamie Venable.
He co-founded and built a multi-million-dollar visual effects company delivering work for global film franchises including Star Trek, Iron Man, Mission: Impossible, and The Chronicles of Narnia.
He later led global operations inside Activision’s Central Technology organization, supporting development infrastructure behind Call of Duty as it scaled from approximately $1B to ~$2B annually.
Across more than two decades, he has built companies, scaled systems, and operated inside environments where performance and adaptability were not optional.
If Happens reflects that operating posture: clear-eyed, systems-driven, and built for pressure.
Why It Matters Now
Periods of structural transition do not announce themselves. They show up as stalled momentum professionally and/or personally, shrinking influence, rising risk, and quiet disorientation. If Happens exists to make those patterns visible and actionable. If this is you, let’s discuss your situation.
